Ba Mai Palpation
Rayén Antón (engl.)
Within the Engaging Vitality toolbox we have listening tools to palpate the regular channels (channel listening), overall fields of influence (Shape of Qi, Fluid Body), and we also have ways to palpate the nuances of different levels of activity and motions (Qi Signal Assessment, Yang Rhythm, Fluid Tide, Motility and Mobility of the Viscera, for instance). And this is not all, we can also palpate the Extraordinary Vessels, once we have acquired our basic toolbox. When we first encounter the Fluid Body, the “bag” during our FUNDAMENTALS, we’re laying the ground to be able to recognize the Morphology of the Extraordinary Vessels in that Fluid Body. When we learn to palpate and follow the Yang Rhythm (FUNDAMENTALS) or feel the Motility of the Organs (VISCERAL CLASS), we’re also putting into practice the same way of tuning and antennas we’ll use to palpate the Inherent Movement of the Extraordinary Vessels. Basically, we’re always listening, applying our attention to different aspects of the body, and allowing our minds to break free from the belief that our theoretical knowledge and palpable reality are two different, separated things.
In this class we use, just as reference when it is a familiar ground, basic Extraordinary Vessel pulse descriptions, and abdominal reflex areas. We make use of all the tools we’ve acquired during our FUNDAMENTAL training, and expand our palpatory tools to a new terrain of investigation.
