Medical Qigong with Liu Ya Fei

Since 2006 the Nei Yang Gong Zentrum Berlin has collaborated with the Shou Zhong school in offering a three-year advanced program in medical qigong with Liu Ya Fei. The fifth class began in 2019 and demand is unabated.
The three-part program includes:

Basic Course – Foundations

Prerequisites: Two years of qigong experience or related disciplines (tai ji quan, wushu).

Content: Over eight weekends the foundational principles of qigong will be taught using small exercises as an example. The big form taught is the “Muscle/Tendon Change and Moving Qi” exercise series. Relevant TCM foundations and didactic content are also included for qigong practitioners.

Aim: Prerequisite for Advanced Training I; basic course + AT I qualifies participants for qigong instruction.

When: The next basic course begins in January 2024. A module system, it can be attended in full or only on individual weekends.

 

Advanced Training I – Methods

Prerequisites: Basic Nei Yang Gong training or another qigong program and basic knowledge of the exercise series “Muscle/Tendon Change and Moving Qi” (a minimum of three weekends with Liu Ya Fei or authorized teachers)

Content: Forms of still and moving exercises are taught from the basic and intermediate levels of Nei Yang Gong, including the exercise series “Muscle/Tendon Change and Move Qi” and “Move Qi and Lengthen Your Life.” In the theoretical part the overall scheme of the exercises, their health effects, and potential contraindications are discussed, and variations for preexisting conditions or illnesses are demonstrated.

Aim: Qigong instructor qualification specialized in Nei Yang Gong

Advanced Training II – Application

Prerequisites: Advanced Training I and at least 170 hours of training in Chinese medicine (guest students exempt)

Content: Building on AT I all exercises will be reviewed and enhanced. Exercises used for medical purposes are added such as nü zi qigong – qigong for women and the still exercises in the Nei Yang Gong intermediate level. Theory includes: diagnosis criteria, qigong therapy, and the creation of individual courses of treatment. The primary focus will be frequently occurring chronic diseases. The course also includes instructing patients in a selection of exercises as well as case reviews and documenting progress.

Objective: Individualized qigong therapy and AGTCM diploma, requirements pending

When: The course begins in February 2027. It is held on eight weekends and in one workshop intensive.
This course is accredited by Deutscher Dachverband für Qigong und Taijiquan and AGTCM.
